Parenting children with special needs involves the same challenges as typically-developing children, and much much more.   Parents of exceptional children may find themselves thinking, “I didn’t sign up for this”, “How can I parent a child I don’t like?”, or "I can't manage".  Moreover, for those who have kids with challenging behavior, it can be devastating to feel judged in public by others who feel that we are doing a poor job in the parenting department.

I approach my work with parents of neurodiverse children with multiple tools - emotional support, deep empathy, the sharing of evidence-based tools and strategies that can be applied immediately in your home, and sharing my vast resources and personal knowledge. Successfully raising my three boys (ages 20, 19, and 17), two of whom have significant special needs, has informed my belief that it is possible for neurodiverse kids to thrive and succeed at school and in life.
